SANAA, Oct. 3 (YPA) – Yemeni economists said on Wednesday that the circulation of the currency recently printed by the exiled Hadi government is one of the main reasons for the devaluation of riyal against foreign exchange.
“The currency printing that caused the decline in the Yemeni riyal value against foreign exchange led to a rise in prices of food and medicine and the worsening economic crisis,” the economists said in a statement to Yemen News Agency (Saba).
They explained that printing of currency comes within the economic war being waged on the country by the Saudi-led coalition, which has had disastrous effects on the national economy.
The economists call on citizens to not circulate that currency in order to contribute to reduce the negative effects and disastrous consequences on the economy and the living situation of the Yemeni people.
