Protesters in Sanaa denounce coalition crimes, siege
SANAA, Oct. 1 (YPA) – Citizens in Tahrir district of the capital Sanaa on Monday staged a protesting vigil to denounce crimes of US-backed Saudi-led coalition against Yemeni people and the all-out siege imposed on the country.
The participants, including sheikhs and social figures, expressed their rejection of the starvation policy pursued by the coalition countries, which left economic burdens on the citizens.
A statement issued by the protestors noted to the readiness of the district residents, including citizens and merchants, to continue to supply the fronts with money, gear and fighters.
The statement urged traders and businessmen to inspect the needs of poor families, including the families of martyrs, wounded and fighters stationed in the fronts.
It called on the United Nations, the Security Council and human rights organizations to assume responsibility and pressure the coalition countries to lift the siege imposed on the airports and ports in order to ease the access of food, medicine and oil derivatives.
