GULF, Sept. 27 (YPA) – A Twitter account concerning Saudi detainees of opinion, on Thursday said that there are 12 detainees on hunger strike in prisons of Saudi Arabia.
One of those hunger strikers is Musleh al-Jahni, who strikes every few months since his arrest, the account added.
But the “worst” of that, according to the account, is that “the authorities force-feed the hunger strikers by tube,” explaining that the forced feeding has caused the strikers to suffer from diseases in the digestive system.”
Since Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman assumed office in June 2017, authorities have launched a campaign of arrests against hundreds of officials, princes, preachers, political opponents and even liberal activists.
Bin Salman has used various methods of intimidation and threat against those who opposed him, and made many unprecedented changes in his country, including undermining human rights and freedom of expression in Saudi Arabia.
