Coalition’s escalation worsens suffering of Hodeidah residents: Local official

HODEIDAH, Sept. 24 (YPA) – Acting governor of Hodeidah province, Mohammed Quhaim, on Monday said the Saudi-led coalition countries’ recent escalation in the western coast has exacerbated the residents’ suffering.

“Tightening of the siege on the port of Hodeidah and the prevention of the access of relief materials and oil derivatives has doubled the suffering of citizens in the coastal province,” Quhaim said during a meeting with representatives of international organizations operating in the province.

The meeting discussed the dire humanitarian situations being experienced by the province residents due to the coalition’s military escalation.

The meeting stressed the need to address the situations of the province’s residents, displaced and war-affected people through alleviating their daily suffering and facilitating access of food to them.
