Ministry of Industry reassures citizens about domestic gas supply

SANAA, Sept. 17 (YPA) – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohammad al-Hashemi, on Monday assured citizens that the domestic gas is available in large quantities and there is no need to worry.

“The problem currently exists is the pressure and increased demand for gas by the owners of buses, machinery and equipment and some factories that became operated by gas because of its low price and the high price of oil derivatives,” said al-Hashemi during a meeting held in Sanaa and attended by Deputy Executive Director of Yemen Gas Company, Mohammed al-Qudaimi.

He pointed out that the joint gas management team approved re-working according to the previous adopted mechanism in the distribution of gas to the residential neighborhoods in the capital Sanaa.

Al-Hashemi said that twenty trailers loaded with about fifty thousand cylinders were distributed on Monday in districts of the capital Sanaa, and that other quantities will be distributed during the coming days by the gas company to citizens at a price of 2100 riyals for a cylinder of 20 liters.
