Mahara residents prevent Saudi forces from establishing military site
MAHARA, Sep. 14 (YPA) – The residents of Al-Mahra province prevented the coalition forces from establishing a military site in Mseila district of the province, a local sources told Yemen Press Agency on Friday.
The people of Mseila hold a rally in front of a point within the areas of grazing and fishing in the district which the Saudi forces tried to establish a military site, preventing them from entering the checkpoint and transporting military equipment.
The sources quoted the residents as displeased with the transformation their district into a military zone that is hindering their normal lives, calling on local authorities to move quickly to find a fair solution to the matter.
Mahra province has recently seen widespread protests that have prompted Saudi Arabia to back down plans to control a number of its sovereign sites.
