Powerful earthquake hits New Caledonia’s coast in Pacific

SANAA, Sept. 11 (YPA) – A powerful earthquake measuring 6.1 degrees on the Richter scale hit areas near the French coast of New Caledonia in the Pacific, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported on Monday.

According to the Russian Sputnik agency, the quake was recorded on Monday (September 10th), at 19.31 a.m. UTC.

The quake was centered west of Hunter Island, (205 kilometers) at depth 10 kilometers.
