3 killed, several injured in terrorist attack on Libya oil corporation

TRIPOLI, Sept. 10 (YPA) – At least three staff members were killed and several wounded in a terrorist attack that hit the Libyan National Oil Corporation headquarters in Tripoli Monday morning, the media office of Libyan Interior Ministry said.

A number of security agencies have been assigned to investigate in the attack, according to the media office.

“We recovered three bodies, one is the body of one of the corporation guard, in addition to remains of two unidentified bodies which are likely to be bodies of the attack perpetrators,” said Osama Ali, the spokesman for the ambulance and emergency agency.

In this regard, the Special Deterrent Force announced that “Daesh organization was behind the attack on the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation in Dahra area in central Tripoli.”

Media office of the force said “special units of the force were able to evacuate the building after the suicide bombers detonated themselves,” adding that they are investigating the circumstances of the attack.

Earlier the day, a group of gunmen attacked the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation, killing and injuring a number of employees ,and taking several others as hostages.
