SANAA, Sept. 5 (YPA) – The United Nations special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths said on Wednesday, that the Geneva talks on Yemen may be delayed for some time.
“The Geneva talks will focus on two key aspects, the first one is to re-activate the peace process and the second to build confidence measures between the parties to the conflict,” Martin Griffiths said in a press conference on Wednesday.
He added “I think we will see both sides sitting in the same room in Geneva peace talks, but that is not a condition,” noting to the prospect of accepting the parties to the conflict in Sana’a to sit down on one table.
He said that he is following closely the arrangements for the attendance of the parties to the conflict in Yemen to the Geneva talks, which are due to begin on Thursday, following the announcement of Sanaa delegation, saying that the Saudi-led coalition hindered the traveling of its delegation participating in the consultations.
