Press conference in Sanaa discusses humanitarian disasters left by war

SANAA, Sep. 4 (YPA) – The Ministries of Water, Electricity, Public Health and Fisheries in Sanaa held on Tuesday a joint press conference to discuss the humanitarian disasters left by Saudi-led coalition airstrikes.

In the conference, Minister of Water and Environment highlighted the catastrophic consequences of the coalition’s direct and systematic targeting of water facilities.

The Minister of Electricity also talked about the electricity crisis in the areas under the control of the National Salvation Government, and the consequences of the coalition’s continuation in preventing the arrival of fuel, which caused a continuous electricity crisis, especially in the capital Sanaa.

Minister of Fisheries focused in his speech on the coalition’s continued attacks on fishermen in the sea and the direct bombing on the fish market and the fishing port in Hodeidah province, calling for putting an end to that.

In the health sector, the number of cholera and water diarrhea cases since 27 April 2017 until 2 September 2018 has amounted to 1,162,562 cases, and the province of Hodeidah topped the list with 170,570 cases.

On last Tuesday, Minister of Public Health and Population held a press conference at Al-Thawra General Hospital, demanding reopening of Sanaa airport and implementing an air bridge for transporting patients, medicines medical supplies.
