Sanaa calls on all media outlets to visit Taiz, expose siege’s claims

SANAA, Oct. 26 (YPA) – Acting Minister of Information in Sanaa Omar Al-Bukhaiti has called on local, regional, and international media outlets and activists to visit Taiz province and conduct field investigations to assess conditions on the ground and verify claims that the Sanaa government is imposing a siege on the city.

In a news statement on Monday, Al-Bukhaiti said the ministry was fully prepared to facilitate media visits and remove obstacles to ensure accurate on-the-ground reporting.

He rejected Saudi-backed forces’ claims that the Sanaa government was besieging Taiz, describing them as false allegations, citing the Taiz governor’s statement that roads under Sanaa government control are fully open and secure for trucks carrying food, medical supplies, and fuel.

Al-Bukhaiti said Saudi-backed forces were imposing restrictions and obstructing the movement of residents and the entry of essential goods, particularly through the Al-Qasr Roundabout crossing.

He added that traffic on other roads was proceeding normally under the protection of Sanaa forces, citing video reports broadcast by national television channels.

Al-Bukhaiti concluded by urging media outlets to verify information and uphold professional standards before taking positions, warning against being misled by misleading narratives disseminated by Saudi media and affiliated outlets.
