Yemeni youth found dead under bridge in Shabwa amid demands for urgent investigation

SHABWA, Oct. 24 (YPA) – The body of a young Yemeni man, Ali Ahmed Abdul-Mana’a, from the Al-Sadara area of Hajar District in Hadramout Governorate, was found dead under mysterious circumstances beneath the Azzan Bridge in Mayfa’a District, Shabwa Governorate.

According to local sources, residents discovered the body on Friday, several days after he went missing following his departure from home last Sunday to visit friends from the Abdul-Mana’a family in the Ba’aram area. Initial forensic examinations revealed clear signs of torture on the body, which has been transferred to the morgue at Ataq Hospital, sparking widespread shock and outrage among local residents.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family and residents of Mayfa’a District have urgently called upon the Saudi-backed authorities—who oversee the security and military situation in Shabwa through Saudi forces commander Muslih Al-Otaibi—to launch an immediate and transparent investigation to uncover the circumstances of the crime and apprehend the perpetrators, amid ongoing security chaos plaguing the governorate since 2016.
