Armed group kidnaps recruit in Aden amid dispute over sale of weapons

ADEN, Oct. 24 (YPA) – A recruit was kidnapped after armed men affiliated with commander Samer Al-Mashoushi raided his home in Bir Ahmed, in the Saudi-controlled city of Aden, southern Yemen.

Local rights sources said members of the so-called Security Support Forces stormed the home of recruit Abu Bakr Salem Haitham Al-Sharari on Friday afternoon and took him to a secret prison.

The sources attributed the incident to personal disputes over proceeds from the sale of weapons removed from a military camp, including 14.5 mm machine guns.

They said the weapons were transported out of the camp in an ambulance, with the proceeds undisclosed.
