LONDON, Oct. 20 (YPA) – The British Ministry of Defense announced that Royal Air Force Typhoon fighters will participate in supporting Saudi air defenses in the context of countering attacks by Sana’a forces, stressing that their missions will be limited to defensive roles without offensive strikes.
British Defense Secretary Wes Streeting said: “The attacks launched by the Houthis on our ally Saudi Arabia are unacceptable,” stressing that the Typhoon’s missions are defensive to protect Saudi airspace.
Bloomberg quoted British officials as saying that the missions will include protecting cities and infrastructure, with the provision of an Atlas A400M military transport aircraft capable of carrying heavy payloads within Saudi territory, and the deployment of military advisors as part of its deployment in the Kingdom.
