DOHA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – The Yemen U-17 national football team is set to face its Saudi counterpart on Tuesday evening in a highly anticipated match for the second round of Group B in the Gulf Under-17 Cup, currently hosted by the Qatari capital, Doha, from October 16 to November 4, 2026.
The match kicks off at 8:00 PM Yemen time, as the Yemeni squad looks to build on its positive momentum and strengthen its prospects of advancing to the next round, following an opening-match victory over Iraq.
In the same group, Egypt will face Kuwait at 5:45 PM, with both teams aiming to secure a result that serves their ambitions of claiming the two qualification spots.
Egypt currently leads the group standings with three points, ahead of second-placed Yemen on goal difference, after the Egyptian side launched its campaign with a resounding 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia, while Yemen defeated Iraq.
Conversely, both Saudi Arabia and Iraq enter the second round without points, whereas Kuwait will play its opening match of the tournament after sitting out the first round.
The fixture between Yemen and Saudi Arabia carries significant weight within the group dynamics, as Yemen’s youth team aims for a decisive win to edge closer to qualification, while the Saudi side hopes to rebound from its initial defeat and re-enter the race for contention.
