MAHRA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – A large number of tuna and dolphins have washed ashore dead along the coastline of Rakhut in the Sayhut District of Mahra Governorate, with the exact causes of this environmental disaster remaining unknown.
Local fishermen reported significant damage to coastal communities whose livelihoods depend entirely on fishing, noting that local authorities have failed to inspect the site or determine the cause of the crisis.
These incidents coincide with recurring reports of marine life die-offs along Yemeni southern beaches and territorial waters—areas under Saudi military control—which local sources attribute to illicit activities and environmental pollution.
