Pro-Saudi factions in Aden accused of selling prisoners to Saudi regime

SANAA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Abdulqader Al-Mortada, Chairman of the Prisoners’ Affairs Committee in the Sanaa-based government, has announced that the committee obtained confirmed information indicating that the Saudi-backed factions in Aden sold a portion of the prisoners captured in recent battles, and that the Saudi regime subsequently transferred them to Mukalla and then to Saudi Arabia.

Al-Mortada affirmed in a statement that this action constitutes a crime against the prisoners and demonstrates the extent of subordination and dependency reached by those who call themselves the legitimate authority.

He pointed out that these mercenaries are nothing more than cheap tools in the hands of the Saudi regime carrying out its dictates, possessing no independent decision-making power even regarding the issue of prisoners.

Al-Mortada also held the Saudi regime fully responsible for the lives and safety of all prisoners across various fronts, and called on the International Committee of the Red Cross to take action and work to uncover the circumstances of this crime, pressure the Saudi regime to reveal the fate of the prisoners, and allow visits to check on their safety.
