Israeli occupation forces move yellow line barriers westward in eastern Gaza City

GAZA, Oct. 11 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces have relocated the yellow concrete barriers marking the yellow line in the eastern part of Gaza City further west.

The barriers are now positioned in the area of the Shuja’iyya junction on the Salah al-Din Road.

The expansion extends the Israeli military zone east of Shuja’iyya and brings Israeli forces closer to the main road linking the northern and southern Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces heavily shelled areas east of Khan Younis, Bureij refugee camp, and the Shuja’iyya and al-Tuffah neighborhoods in Gaza City. The artillery fire was accompanied by gunfire from Israeli tanks and military vehicles.

They  also carried out repeated demolitions in eastern areas of the Gaza Strip, particularly in Khan Younis and east of Gaza City.

A year after the ceasefire agreement was announced, Palestinians in Gaza continue to live under the so-called Yellow Line, an imaginary boundary drawn by the Israeli army along the length of the Strip, from north to south.

The line has become a deadly dividing line, with Israeli snipers deployed along its eastern side opening fire on Palestinians who approach it or accidentally cross it.
