Israeli security team arrives in UAE to interrogate Omani pilot

ABU DHABI, Oct. 06 (YPA) – An Israeli military investigation team, including representatives from the Shin Bet, arrived in the UAE to participate in the interrogation of Omani co-pilot Humam Al Hamami, accused of attempting to hijack a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Ben Gurion Airport.

According to international reports, Al Hamami stated during his interrogation that he intended to crash the plane in Israel, targeting Ben Gurion Airport.

UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi announced that Al Hamami attacked the pilot with an emergency axe in the cockpit and attempted to seize control of the flight control systems on September 30, which was carrying 182 people, before the passengers and crew were able to subdue him and the plane made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia, while investigations revealed that he had planned the attack before joining Flydubai.
