Minor quake hits Al-Jand region in Yemen’s Taiz Governorate

TAIZ, Sept. 27 (YPA) – A minor tremor measuring 2.1 on the Richter scale struck the Al-Jand region in Taiz Governorate early Sunday morning, according to seismic monitoring stations.

Mohamed Al-Houthi, head of the Seismological and Volcanological Observatory Center, reported that the quake occurred at 3:16 a.m. local time at a depth of 4 kilometers.

Al-Houthi noted that the event falls within ongoing seismic activity tracked by the center, confirming that monitoring efforts remain active across all regions of the republic.
