YPC condemns Saudi attack on fishermen’s fuel station on Kamaran Island

SANAA, Sept. 25 (YPA) – Yemen Petroleum Company (YPC) in Sanaa condemned the Saudi airstrike on a fuel station designated to supply fishing boats on Kamaran Island in Hodeida Governorate.

In a statement issued Friday, the company said targeting civilian objects and service facilities linked to the daily lives of citizens constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and a dangerous escalation that extends the policy of tightening the blockade and worsening the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The statement stressed that targeting a fuel station used to supply fishing boats on which fishermen depend for their work and livelihoods constitutes a grave crime that further aggravates their suffering and cuts off their means of livelihood.

The Yemen Petroleum Company held the Saudi regime fully responsible for the crime and its humanitarian and economic consequences.
