Sayyed al-Houthi: ‘Our people face real cause, remain committed to their legitimate rights’

SANAA, Sept. 21 (YPA) – Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement leader, said on Monday that the Yemeni people are confronting a real cause, not an imaginary one, stressing their adherence to their legitimate rights and the causes of the nation, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.

The speech came in a speech marking the 12th anniversary of the September 21 Revolution.

Sayyed Abdul-Malik said the Yemeni people’s movement, in light of their prolonged grievances, is legitimate and justified, asking: “What people would accept what the Saudi enemy is doing while its own people remain without salaries for more than 11 years?”

He said the repercussions of the blockade on Yemen have accumulated over the years, affecting the currency, economy and various vital sectors, adding that the country has reached a tragic and catastrophic situation that cannot be ignored.

Sayyed al-Houthi added that Yemenis have a legitimate cause and are among the most wronged peoples in the world, saying that confronting aggression and the blockade comes in the context of defending this cause.

On economic and sovereignty-related issues, Sayyed Abdul-Malik said the enemies are seeking to seize Yemen’s resources and turn strategic locations in the country into military bases, warning of the consequences for Yemen’s future and resources.

The movement’s leader called on the Yemeni people to continue mobilization, work to reform state institutions, confront the blockade and aggression, and strengthen the country’s military and security capabilities.
