Al-Ezzi rejects statement attributed to Al-Azhar over alleged Macca targeting

SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – In a new escalation in the political and media dispute over Saudi accusations that Macca was targeted, Ansarullah Political Bureau member Hussein Al-Ezzi entered the debate, criticizing a statement attributed to Al-Azhar Al-Sharif over the allegations that Macca had been targeted.

Sanaa has categorically denied the allegations, stressing that its operations target military and economic sites and affirming its right, on religious, legal and ethical grounds, to respond to what it described as the insult.

In a post on X, Al-Ezzi said: “We absolve Al-Azhar Al-Sharif of this statement and attribute it to an imaginary entity that deserves the title of ‘vile scoundrel,’” saying that the party behind the statement does not represent Egypt’s religious institution.

He also criticized the use of Al-Azhar’s and Egyptian scholars’ names in lists of falsehood and slander, while praising Egyptian scholars and stressing that his remarks were not directed against the institution or Egyptian religious scholars.
