Al-Ghariani: Saudi war in Yemen is being waged on behalf of US

TRIPOLI, Sept. 17 (YPA) – The Grand Mufti of Libya, Sheikh Dr. Sadiq Al-Ghariani, stated that the ongoing war in Yemen—led by Saudi Arabia using airstrikes and missile bombardment against the resistance and Ansarullah—does not truly aim to restore legitimacy, but rather serves as a proxy war waged on behalf of the United States.

In a televised address, Sheikh Al-Ghariani said the US administration finds itself entangled in the region’s conflicts while attempting to project a false narrative to the American public that it remains in control, the crisis has ended, and oil prices are stabilized.

He noted that market realities reveal a very different picture, pointing to serious strategic entanglements surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.

The Grand Mufti added that Washington fears Ansarullah establishing firm control over the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait, warning that such a scenario would exceed US operational capacity, undermine its credibility, and trigger public backlash as its official narratives crumble.
