GAZA, Sept. 16 (YPA) – Nine Palestinians were killed and 14 others injured, while dozens remain trapped under the rubble, following the collapse of a residential building in the Al-Sina’a area, southwest of Gaza City on Wednesday, the Civil Defense said.
The Civil Defense added the fate of around 100 people remains unknown as they are believed to be trapped under the rubble of the collapsed building.
It warned that around 2,000 other dilapidated buildings across the Gaza Strip, housing large numbers of residents, are at risk of collapse.
The Civil Defense called on the international community to provide the equipment needed to recover those missing under the rubble of the collapsed building in Gaza City.
A large number of Gaza residents have been forced to seek shelter in unsafe, dilapidated homes instead of tents, despite repeated warnings about the risks.
