Scores of Saudi-backed fighters return to Hodeida following general amnesty

HODEIDA, Sept. 13 (YPA) – Local authorities in Hodeida governorate received on Sunday 322 returning fighters who had been serving among military mobilization forces backed by Saudi Arabia on the western coast, utilizing the general amnesty issued by Sanaa.

The Governor of Hodeida in Sanaa Government, Abdullah Ateefi, welcomed the returnees, stating that they were back among their families and praising their response to the call to return under the general amnesty decree.

Ateefi affirmed that the amnesty decision embodies values of tolerance and forgiveness, allowing those covered to rejoin society, preserve their dignity, and receive care. He called on those remaining within Saudi-backed mobilization forces to take advantage of the amnesty offer and return to their families and homeland.

He noted that the doors remain open for anyone who lays down their arms and wishes to benefit from the general amnesty, aiming to strengthen social cohesion and uphold the values of tolerance.
