7 Swedish parties support tougher measures against Israeli occupation

STOCKHOLM, Sept. 05 (YPA) – A poll conducted by six Swedish and international organizations shows that seven out of eight parties represented in the Swedish parliament support tougher measures against the occupation’s violations in the occupied Palestinian territories ahead of the general elections scheduled for September 13, 2026.

The seven parties agreed to support imposing sanctions on Zionist officials, banning trade with settlements, and cooperating with the International Criminal Court, including executing the arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant.

Four parties also supported suspending the EU-Israel Association Agreement and resuming funding for UNRWA.

In contrast, the dispute over arms trade continued, while the Sweden Democrats, the second-largest party in parliament, declined to participate in the poll.

It should be noted that organizations participated in the poll included Amnesty International, Swedish and Human Rights Watch.
