BAHRAIN, Aug. 30 (YPA) – The US-based Military Times has revealed the extent of the damage sustained by a US military base in Bahrain.
The Military Times described the destruction as unbelievable and reporting that an Iranian attack severely weakened one of the United States’ key military facilities in the region.
According to the outlets, the damage is estimated at around $400 million, affecting facilities including the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet, military barracks, warehouses, communications towers, and a drinking-water supply station.
The outlet said the scale of the damage was among the reasons behind the US government’s reluctance to disclose the losses, while the nature of the facilities affected indicates that the attack went beyond limited damage and struck key components of the US military infrastructure in Bahrain.
