French demonstrator fly kites in solidarity with Gaza’s children

PARIS, Aug. 29 (YPA) – Pro-Palestine demonstrators took to the streets of the French capital, Paris, on Saturday in a march in support of Palestine, carrying olive branches and kites.

Despite the rain, Palestine’s supporters gathered near the historic Place de la Bastille before marching toward the Fontaine des Innocents in central Paris.

The demonstrators carried olive branches, a symbol of peace that holds deep significance in Palestinian culture, and chanted slogans including: There is a genocide in Gaza, we will not remain silent and Free 10,000 Palestinian prisoners.

The protesters also flew kites bearing Palestinian flag designs in protest against depriving children in Gaza of their right to play with kites.

Participants called for the release of all Palestinian prisoners, including doctors. They also wrote numbers on their faces and arms in protest against Israeli occupation’s reported practice of marking numbers on the foreheads of some Palestinians it detains.

The occupation’s media claimed late last week that kites launched from the Gaza Strip had landed in Israeli settlements near the border, prompting concern among Israelis.
