Iran welcomes China’s stance rejecting US sanctions

TEHRAN, Aug. 27 (YPA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on Wednesday welcomed China’s principled statement rejecting illegal US sanctions imposed on Iran.

“We welcome China’s principled statement rejecting the illegal sanctions imposed on Iran,” Ghalibaf wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

He added that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and China is built on mutual respect, mutually beneficial cooperation, and a shared vision of a multipolar world, emphasizing that “this relationship requires no one’s approval.”

The statement follows Beijing’s announcement on Tuesday expressing strong opposition to unilateral and illegal US sanctions against Iran, asserting that they lack any basis in international law and have not been authorized by the UN Security Council.
