MOSCOW, Aug. 26 (YPA) – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced high-precision strikes targeting two cargo vessels carrying military shipments and four equipment storage facilities at Yuzhny Port near Odesa.
The ministry also reported destroying fuel storage tanks for Ukrainian forces at the Port of Chornomorsk to disrupt their logistical capabilities.
On the ground, the ministry stated that the “Tsentr” (Center) Group of Forces liberated the village of Annovka in Donetsk and targeted a launch site for “Flamingo” cruise missiles. It added that Ukrainian forces sustained approximately 1,275 casualties over a 24-hour period across various fronts.
Furthermore, Russian forces targeted defense industry enterprises, ammunition and drone warehouses, and temporary deployment points for foreign mercenaries across more than 150 regions. Air defense systems reportedly downed 7 guided bombs, 5 HIMARS projectiles, and 460 unmanned aerial vehicles.
These strikes come as Russian attacks increasingly focus on ports and maritime infrastructure to obstruct arms transfers via the Black Sea, while Kyiv views the strikes as a systematic targeting of civilian infrastructure.
