US imposes sanctions on Palestine Action, designates it a terrorist organization

WASHINGTON, Aug. 26 (YPA) – The US Treasury Department announced on Wednesday that it has imposed sanctions on Palestine Action and designated it a Specially Designated Global Terrorist Organization.

Britain had previously banned the movement as a terrorist organization, following its increasing targeting of defense companies linked to the Israeli occupation, most notably the Israeli company Elbit Systems.

Reports indicated that Britain’s Supreme Court will consider an appeal against a lower court ruling that the decision to ban the movement was lawful.
