Palestinian injured as Israeli forces continue violating Gaza ceasefire

GAZA, Aug, 26 (YPA) –  A Palestinian was injured on Wednesday as Israeli occupation forces continued to violate the Gaza ceasefire agreement, opening fire and shelling several areas across the Strip, including displaced Palestinians’ tents.

Palestinian sources reported that Israeli military vehicles opened fire toward tents housing displaced Palestinians in the al-Mawasi area of Rafah, southern Gaza, with some bullets reaching the Fash Fash intersection.

The sources added that Israeli artillery positioned south of Khan Yunis shelled areas west of Rafah, while Israeli forces fired illumination flares south of Khan Yunis.

Intense gunfire from Israeli military vehicles was also reported east of Hamad City, north of Khan Yunis, with renewed fire targeting displaced Palestinians’ tents in the area. A Palestinian was injured by Israeli forces’ gunfire inside Hamad City.

In Gaza City, Israeli tanks opened fire on areas east of Khan Younis city, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Since the ceasefire agreement was reached on October 11, 2025, Israeli forces have violated the deal hundreds of times, killing around 1,300 Palestinians, injuring thousands more, and causing extensive destruction to buildings and infrastructure.
