Israeli occupation forces storm Kafr Aqab and begin evacuating UNRWA building in Jerusalem

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, Aug. 25 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem, on Tuesday.

Palestinian sources reported that the occupation forces deployed in the streets and alleys of the camp and the town, conducting field interrogations of a number of citizens, amidst raids, searches, and the deployment of military vehicles.

In a related context, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stormed a UNRWA building in Qalandiya and announced the start of the “evacuation process,” claiming that “there is no place for the agency in Jerusalem and Israel.”

Israeli media outlets reported that the occupation forces would begin demolishing an UNRWA building in Jerusalem today.

These steps come as part of a continuous Israeli escalation against UNRWA in occupied Jerusalem, aimed at ending its work and imposing restrictions on its activities, despite its UN mandate to serve Palestinian refugees.

The occupation authorities had previously approved measures to prevent the agency from operating and to revoke its privileges, a move that sparked widespread Palestinian and international condemnation.
