Iran warns Europe: US bases could be targeted if states join attacks on Tehran

TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (YPA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei warned Monday that Tehran could target U.S. military bases in European countries if those states participate in any attack against Iran.

In a statement, Baghaei said Iran was acting in self-defense and had exhausted diplomatic options to prevent war, accusing Washington of violating agreements.

He also warned that the U.S. naval blockade of Iran constituted an act of aggression with potentially serious consequences.

The spokesman added that Iran’s relations with Pakistan were advancing, while talks with Oman would address security in the Strait of Hormuz and bilateral cooperation.
