Israeli occupation forces raid Daraa countryside village in southern Syria

DAMASCUS, Aug. 24 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces raided Maariya village in western rural Daraa province, southern Syria, amid continued military activity in the Yarmouk Basin area, according to Syrian sources.

“Israeli occupation forces advanced with six military vehicles into the village of Maariya in the western Daraa countryside,” the sources said.

The Israeli occupation continues to conduct near-daily violations across the southern Syrian countryside of Quneitra and Daraa. Operations include setting up temporary military roadblocks, searching civilians and vehicles, raiding homes, detaining and interrogating local residents, and destroying agricultural land.

The ground incursion comes on the heels of an Israeli assault last week involving eight airstrikes against the Abu al-Duhur Military Airport in eastern Idlib, which inflicted heavy material damage on the facility’s infrastructure.
