Iran Says It Maintained Defense Production Despite War and Sanctions
TEHRAN, Aug. 22 (YPA) – Iran’s acting defense minister, Brig. Gen. Seyyed Majid Ibn al-Reza, said on Saturday that Iran has maintained production lines for military equipment and weapons despite wartime conditions and sanctions, while introducing new offensive and defensive systems into the battlefield.
According to Tasnim, he said Iran’s defense industry relies on domestic capabilities and national technologies to strengthen deterrence and support the armed forces.
He stressed that Iran would never surrender to pressure, arguing that effective deterrence requires domestic industrial capabilities, advanced technology and the ability to impose costs on aggressors.
Ibn al-Reza also said Iran is ready to cooperate with regional countries to end the war and promote peace and stability, calling for new collective-security arrangements in the Persian Gulf.
