Military sources uncover details of attack on Saudi landing ship in Mocha

SANAA, Aug. 18 (YPA) – Military sources revealed that the targeting of the Saudi landing ship off the coast of Mocha by Sanaa forces represented a dual military blow in terms of both the significance of the target and the capability to expose Saudi movements.

The sources stated that the ship was en route to the port of Mocha to supply Tariq Saleh’s forces with equipment and ammunition, after they lost their strategic inventory in missile strikes and drone attacks that targeted ammunition depots and military vehicle concentrations.

They added that the Saudi vessel attempted to conceal itself and use camouflage by maneuvering and turning off tracking devices, while being provided with heavy escort from military boats to secure its arrival at the port of Mocha. However, Sanaa forces were tracking its movements and shelled it heavily as it approached the port, causing it to catch fire and destroying the military support on board.

The sources explained that the strike deprived Tariq Saleh’s forces of qualitative support, while also demonstrating Sanaa’s ability to expose Saudi tactics along the West Coast.

On Monday, Sanaa forces announced that they had set a Saudi military ship on fire and sunk several escort boats off the coast of Mocha in western Yemen.

In a military statement, Sanaa forces clarified that they targeted a Saudi military landing ship alongside four accompanying military boats in the Red Sea off the coast of Mocha.

They confirmed that the attack was executed using a number of ballistic missiles, achieving precise and direct hits.

They revealed that the operation resulted in the complete burning of the ship, the sinking of several boats, and the catching fire of the remainder, noting that they closely monitor all movements and mobilizations of the Saudi enemy and will target those movements and mobilizations on land or at sea.

Sanaa forces also affirmed their commitment to enforcing the equation of “blockade for blockade” and targeting all Saudi mobilizations wherever they may be.

The military spokesman for Sanaa forces, Brigadier General Sarie, announced on Monday evening that the armed forces managed to target a weapons depot belonging to Saudi military mobilizations at the ‘Sahn al-Jin’ camp in Marib Governorate.

In a military statement, Sarie confirmed that the operation was carried out using several drones, resulting in precise hits that set the depot ablaze.

This statement came less than an hour after Sanaa forces announced setting a Saudi military ship on fire and sinking several accompanying military boats in the Red Sea off the coast of Mocha in western Yemen, reiterating that the attack was carried out with ballistic missiles, achieving direct and accurate hits, completely burning the ship, sinking several boats, and burning the rest—while reaffirming their tracking of enemy movements and the ongoing enforcement of the “blockade for blockade” equation.
