Saudi defense projectiles hit residential homes in Sayoun, sparking panic, calls to relocate military camps
SAYOUN, Aug. 15 (YPA) – Shells fired by Saudi air defense systems in Sayoun city, the center of Hadramout valley governorate, landed on residential rooftops and inhabited areas on Saturday during an interception of an unidentified drone.
The incident caused extensive property damage and triggered widespread fear and anger among local residents.

A human rights source in the city confirmed that the falling projectiles, originating from Saudi military bases adjacent to populated neighborhoods, posed a direct threat to citizens’ lives.
The source highlighted growing public demands for the immediate relocation of military camps and weapons depots away from residential areas.
Furthermore, the source held the leadership of the Saudi forces and its affiliated factions fully responsible for the safety of civilians and their property, stating that maintaining a military presence near residential zones constitutes a disregard for public safety under international humanitarian standards.
