Five Lebanese soldiers injured in Israeli attack on Lebanon

BEIRUT, Aug. 02 (YPA) – The Lebanese Army announced that five of its personnel sustained minor injuries in the southern town of Kfar Kila after being directly targeted while escorting a military vehicle accompanying local residents.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Israeli occupation forces carried out heavy explosions in the town of Kounine in Bint Jbeil district, with blasts heard across large areas of southern Lebanon. An Israeli Merkava tank also fired three shells toward Hadatha, followed by intense heavy machine-gun fire.

The occupation further targeted the area by firing a sound bomb at an abandoned house in Mansouri, while field reports said Israeli drones dropped explosive materials on Ali al-Taher Hill, coinciding with additional explosions in Taybeh in Marjayoun district.

Israeli drone activity has continued over Lebanese airspace, including flights above Beirut and the southern suburbs, in what observers describe as ongoing violations despite the declared ceasefire agreement.
