Military mutiny at “Sde Teiman”: 100 Zionist soldiers abandon arms, render battalion out of service

PRESS REPORTS, July 30 (YPA) – Hebrew media outlets reported an unprecedented incident at the Sde Teiman military base, where approximately 100 Zionist soldiers and commanders from the Tzabar Battalion of the Givati Brigade left their post and abandoned their weapons following internal disputes with their battalion commander.

The Israeli newspaper “Maariv” quoted a military source stating that the incident resulted in taking the battalion out of operational readiness and hampering its ability to participate in upcoming operations in the Gaza Strip. The source highlighted tensions arising from attempts by veteran fighters to impose their own norms within the battalion.

For its part, the Israeli occupation military acknowledged that the soldiers left without authorization, clarifying in a statement that the incident is currently under investigation and that “it does not align with military values and standards of service,” without disclosing the measures taken against them.

These exceptional developments occurred at the Sde Teiman base, which has been utilized as a primary detention facility since the onset of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
