Sanaa denies targeting ship in Egypt’s Damietta Port, reaffirms operations target only Saudi regime

SANAA, July 30 (YPA) – An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Sanaa on Thursday denied media reports claiming that Yemen targeted a vessel in the Egyptian port of Damietta.

In a statement to the state-run Yemen News Agency (Saba) in Sanaa, the source clarified that the Yemeni stance remains explicit and publicly declared, targeting only the Saudi regime in response to its blockade and aggression against the Yemeni people.

The source emphasized that maritime navigation in the Red Sea is safe, dismissing concerns circulated by the Saudi regime as unfounded attempts to navigate its predicament.

The statement follows a briefing issued Wednesday evening by the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, which addressed circulating rumors regarding an aerial attack on vessels at Damietta Port, confirming that the incident was solely a fire.
