Iraqi PMF reports 52 casualties in US-Saudi attacks on its headquarters; Iraqi presidency condemns violation

BAGHDAD, July 29 (YPA) – Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Wednesday an initial casualty toll from US-Saudi attacks targeting several of its official headquarters across the governorates of Baghdad, Wasit, Nineveh, Basra, Kirkuk, Karbala, and Diyala.

In an official statement, the PMF confirmed that the aggression resulted in the martyrdom of 20 personnel and the injury of 32 others, alongside material damage to facilities and military vehicles. The statement noted that the casualty figure remains subject to increase as field assessments continue.

In response, the Iraqi Presidency condemned the bombardment, describing it as an unacceptable attack and a flagrant violation of the country’s sovereignty and its official security institutions, as well as a explicit breach of international law and the UN Charter.

The Presidency reiterated Iraq’s firm stance rejecting the use of its territory as an arena for settling scores or launching attacks against neighboring countries, calling for full respect for Iraq’s sovereignty and prioritizing dialogue to maintain regional security and stability.
