Satellite images released by NASA showed a large dark smoke plume extending over the area due to the oil facility fires.

The sources shared new footage of the continuing fires, despite strict restrictions imposed by Saudi authorities, while Saudi sources confirmed that efforts to extinguish the blaze had not yet succeeded.

Earlier, NASA’s Worldview platform showed dense smoke over Jizan linked to fires at Aramco’s oil facilities in southern Saudi Arabia.

NASA’s FIRMS fire-monitoring service also indicated damage to Aramco fuel storage tanks in Jizan, reporting two heat signatures measuring 173 and 159 megawatts.

According to the report, the targeted tanks are located near the refinery, suggesting that the strike avoided the refinery itself. Aramco is responsible for the majority of Saudi Arabia’s proven crude oil reserves, estimated at around 259 billion barrels.
