Israeli occupation forces advance to areas in southern Syria, carry out artillery shelling

DAMASCUS, July 26 (YPA) – Daraa and Quneitra areas in southern Syria witnessed a field escalation, represented by a new Israeli ground incursion and the dropping of warning leaflets, in addition to artillery shelling that targeted agricultural lands.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces infiltrated the villages of Maariya and Al-Arda in the western Daraa countryside, and dropped leaflets calling on residents not to block roads or obstruct their movements.

Israeli artillery also targeted the vicinity of agricultural lands in the village of Taranga in the northern Quneitra countryside with several shells, causing material damage and burning agricultural areas, according to reports.

This escalation comes within a series of repeated Israeli incursions and attacks on southern Syria, in light of the inaction of the Syrian Interim Government.
