Yemeni Foreign Ministry in Sanaa criticizes int’l statements condemning ban on Saudi navigation
SANAA, July 22 (YPA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sanaa criticized statements from several countries condemning the ban on maritime navigation to Saudi Arabia, considering the statements were distributed by the United States or the Saudi regime using a “standardized template.”
In a statement issued Wednesday, the ministry stated that these “biased statements” ignored the Saudi-led blockade on Yemen while condemning the decision by the Yemeni Armed Forces to restrict Saudi-linked maritime traffic. The ministry questioned whether those countries would accept similar restrictions on their own ports and airports.
The ministry added that such positions reflect bias in favor of Saudi Arabia, ignore the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people, and undermine international law. It concluded by stating it does not expect supportive stances from entities that failed to support the Palestinian cause.
