Several Palestinians injured, others arrested in settler attack in Hebron

HEBRON, July 16 (YPA) – A number of Palestinians were injured and seven others were arrested on Thursday evening during a settler attack in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, which included the theft of a flock of sheep.

Osama Makhamra, an activist in the resistance against settlement activity in Masafer Yatta, told the Sanad news agency that settlers attacked the Ayed Mur family in Khirbet Umm Nizel, east of Yatta, and assaulted its members, resulting in various injuries.

They also stole a flock of sheep belonging to the family before occupation forces stormed the area and arrested seven citizens.

For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent stated that its crews treated three injuries in Masafer Yatta as a result of the settler attack.

The West Bank is witnessing a significant escalation in attacks by occupation forces and settlers, whereas the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 11,074 attacks during the first half of 2026.

Data from the Palestine Information Center (PIC) showed that occupation forces and settlers committed 6,856 violations in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem during June 2026.
