Yemeni military source: Israeli “Gulfstream” aircraft helped Saudi forces in detecting and tracking Yemeni missile and drone routes
SANAA, July 16 (YPA) – A senior military source at Yemen’s Ministry of Defense in Sanaa revealed that Israeli aircraft assisted Saudi forces in an attempt to intercept Yemen’s retaliatory response to the attack on Sanaa International Airport.
In an exclusive statement to Al Mayadeen on Thursday, the source said the Israeli aircraft were “Gulfstream” planes specialized in electronic surveillance, communications, and intelligence gathering, took part in tracking and identifying the flight paths of Yemeni missiles and drones.
He added that the Israeli aircraft took off from Nevatim Air Base and conducted operations over the Red Sea.
In response to the Saudi attack on Sanaa International Airport on July 13, the Yemeni Armed Forces targeted Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia with a number of ballistic missiles and drones, saying the operation successfully achieved its objectives.
The Yemeni Armed Forces said they engaged Saudi “aggression” aircraft in the air in an attempt to counter what they described as a “treacherous and cowardly attack” targeting a civilian facility.
Amid the ongoing escalation, the Yemeni Armed Forces warned all airlines against transit through Saudi airspace, urging them to “take their warnings seriously until the blockade on Sanaa International Airport is lifted.”
