US newspaper reveals secret factory in Germany producing drones for Ukraine

NEW YORK, July 12 (YPA) – The New York Times revealed a secret facility in southern Germany, run by the defense technology company “Helsing SE”, producing attack drones for the Ukrainian army, thousands of which have already been used in combat.

According to the newspaper, the factory has no company signage to prevent sabotage and is designed to be dismantled and relocated within 24 hours in the event of a threat. Approximately 100 employees are subject to strict security measures and confidentiality agreements. The main product is HX-2 attack drones, equipped with artificial intelligence, weighing 12 kilograms, with each drone costing €17,500.

This announcement came after the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed last April the spread of Ukrainian drone manufacturing facilities in eight European countries, while the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, stressed that these facilities represent “potential legitimate targets” for the Russian army.
