National Meteorological Center issues warnings of weather fluctuations, extreme heat across several governorates

SANAA, July 07 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning issued a series of warnings on Tuesday to citizens and mariners regarding weather fluctuations and a heatwave sweeping through several regions.

The center alerted ship captains and fishermen in the Socotra Archipelago and eastern coasts of sea disturbance and high waves due to strong winds ranging between 25 and 45 knots. It also warned residents of desert and coastal areas, particularly children and the elderly, against exposure to suspended dust and dust storms.

Regarding precipitation, the center warned citizens in mountainous highlands of lightning strikes and flash floods in valley streams, expecting thunderstorms over parts of Lahj, Dhalea, and Ibb governorates, as well as the plateaus of Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, and Mahra. Scattered rain is also anticipated over Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sanaa, Raymah, and Taiz.

Furthermore, the weather bulletin warned of hot to extremely hot conditions in deserts, internal plateaus, plains, and coastal areas, advising against direct exposure to sunlight during midday hours and urging increased fluid intake.
